Naomi Withiam

• Academic Advisor

Naomi Withiam is an Academic Advisor for Buena Vista University’s Online Programs. She began at BVU in 2023. She is excited to work in a role where she can connect with students from many different backgrounds, including those who are first-generation students like herself. 

Withiam graduated with an Associate of Arts at Austin Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Texas State University. As someone who was a transfer student, she understands the many stressors that come along with it and enjoys being able to connect our students with the many resources that will help them succeed. 

Withiam also recognizes that not every student has the means to come to campus for class. “BVU offers many online programs to its students for a reason and gives them the flexibility they need to earn their degrees. It is rewarding to be able to provide that to our students by breaking any barriers they may face.”

Before coming to BVU, she worked in admissions at the University of Nebraska. “I had so much fun recruiting first-time students during my time at the University of Nebraska, but I wanted to be part of something bigger. As an Academic Advisor at BVU, that is possible. I am excited that I can do that by being more a part of the student’s academic experiences while they earn their degrees.” 

When Withiam is not working, she enjoys traveling, playing board games, trying out new restaurants, and cooking.
