“...network between both my professors and my peers”

Ellen Hartstack, Class of 2011

Hometown: Dyersville, Iowa
Major: Computer Science
Graduate School: Iowa State University, Master of Science in Information Assurance
Place of Employment: The Department of Defense, Washington D.C.

“I greatly enjoyed living and learning at BVU. I had numerous opportunities and chances to network between both my professors and my peers. I traveled to Ireland for two weeks to study ancestry and to Utah to volunteer at the Best Friends Animal Society. Additionally, I had the opportunity to intern at Future Health Software in Carroll, Iowa, and with INTERPOL in Washington D.C. These opportunities helped not only to define me as a person, but provided me with the skills necessary to be accepted into ISU’s Information Assurance graduate program.”

“...from professors who have worked in it”

Thomas Fitzgerald, Class of 2012

Hometown: Manson, Iowa
Major: Computer Science
Place of Employment: Epic in Verona, Wis.
Title: Business Intelligence Developer

“I am extremely happy to have received my college education from BVU. The size of BVU allows students to get to know their instructors as well as their classmates. This has made transitioning to a career where I am constantly working in small teams easier because I am used to the atmosphere. The biggest advantage I feel I gained from my time at BVU, however, is an understanding of the computer science field passed on from professors who have worked in it.”
