Take your career in education further, faster.
BVU’s unique +1 program gives students the opportunity to begin graduate study in special education as an undergraduate, saving both time and money. This advanced degree option not only gives students a competitive edge, but allows them to seek a special education endorsement that may otherwise be difficult to earn in the undergraduate timeframe. In just one additional year of study, students can earn a master’s degree and become licensed to teach in any of the following areas:
- Instructional Strategist I (Mild to moderate disabilities K-8 or 5-12): Teach students with mild to moderate disabilities in resource, inclusion, pull-out, and push-in models with students having exceptionalities in the area of mild to moderate disabilities.
- Strategist II:
- Option 1: Significant Support Needs Cognitive: Teach students with severe and profound cognitive or physical disabilities in grades K-12.
- Option 2: Significant Support Needs Behavioral: Teach students with severe and profound behavior or learning disabilities in grades K-12.
- Comprehensive: Teach students in categories of special education that are listed above, across all grade levels
