Rich Crow

Rich Crow has served as Director of Agriculture at Buena Vista University since May 2020. He has an applied science degree in agriculture GPS/GIS technology from Kirkwood Community College, 2002; a Bachelor of Science degree in soil and plant science from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, 2005; and a Master of Science degree in agronomy from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2007.

Prior to coming to BVU, Crow served as a GPS/GIS consultant for Northeast Iowa farmers for seven years, taught at Kirkwood Community College four years and assisted in developing the Agriculture program at Morningside College.

Crow grew up on a diversified crop and livestock farm in Northeast Iowa, providing him with a background in dairy, beef, swine, corn and soybean production. In 2001, he received his American Farmer Degree from the FFA organization. Throughout his professional career, he has had a strong interest in Ag technologies as they apply to crop production in Iowa. Most recently, he has been working with drone education to assist area high school and college students in obtaining their commercial drone pilot license.

In his spare time, Rich enjoys officiating local high school sporting events in football, basketball and softball; and spending time with his family.
