Melanie Bloom

Bloom grew up on a diversified crop and livestock farm, participating in 4-H and FFA. Those experiences there led her to a career in agricultural education, to share her interest in and passion for agriculture with others. As a secondary agricultural education instructor in northwest Iowa, Bloom also has extensive experience writing agriscience inquiry curriculum. Research interests include how teachers select, implement, and adapt curriculum as well as the value of professional development on teacher success in the classroom.

Bloom, her husband, and their children live on a farm in Buena Vista County where they raise corn, soybeans, hogs, and cattle. In her spare time, she enjoys riding horses with her daughters and camping with her family.
