Baseball fans attend baseball games for many reasons such as their love for the sport, their desire to support the local team, or even their demand for foot-long hotdogs. The Minnesota Twins baseball fans are no different. This project examines a number of variables that may help explain what brings Twin’s fans to a game. Using the method of ordinary least squares to regress those variables, I determine an econometric model with the intent of estimating the attendance of Twins Baseball games. Based in sound economic and logical theories, I formulate hypotheses about the variables. Using appropriate confidence intervals, I test my hypotheses. Lastly, I draw conclusions about my regression model and compare it to the actual attendance records for Twins games.
