Mix some great learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom and you're well on your way to the launching pad to a successful career. Right?

While those experiences are critical parts of the learning equation, it also takes motivation, imagination and sometimes a little help from the right people to find the job you want, and then clinch it with a dynamite resume and interview.

The BVU Office of Career Services has all of the tools you'll need to make that happen. You'll have every chance to tailor your job search and make your resume stand out from the hundreds of others. That applies to your first job out of BVU, and as an alum you will have lifetime use of those services to help you advance in your chosen career or to look in new directions.

Here are a few ways the Office of Career Services can help:

● Personalized career counseling from the staff in the Career Services Office

● Information regarding graduate schools and programs

● Career assessments provided by the Office to clarify career interests and skills

● Mock interviewing and resume critiquing as a service to students

● Assistance in developing job search strategies for obtaining full-time and part-time employment

● Opportunities to interview with employers seeking interns and new graduates

● Workshops and programs that focus on career choice and transition to the workplace

● A comprehensive web site that addresses all phases of career development: self-assessment, exploration, clarification, and preparation for a future beyond BVU

● A new internship coordinator, who works closely with you and your academic advisor and builds connections with host employers who are looking for interns

● A Career symposium in the fall, where BVU alumni come back to campus to answer your questions with "real life" answers about their own paths to successful careers.

● An annual Job Summit, where employers and representatives from graduate schools, non-profits and businesses are eager to visit with you about their job and internship opportunities.
