BVU: A “Great College to Work For”
Buena Vista University has been recognized as one of the nation’s “Great Colleges to Work For 2010” in the July 20, 2010 edition of The Chronicle of Higher Education. BVU was one of only 14 colleges and universities recognized in the Midwest and one of only two in the entire state of Iowa.
Of the 275 colleges and universities surveyed, 97 were awarded this designation, meaning they stood out in at least one of 12 categories that are the core attributes of a great academic workplace. BVU was honored in the “Tenure Clarity and Process” category, which is described as:
“Tenure applications are notable for their openness, with the goal of strengthening faculty members' records. Every time an addition is made to an application, the candidate is able to review it and write a response with any objections or concerns.”
This is the second consecutive year BVU has received this honor.
