After serving Buena Vista University for nearly 23 years, the last 18 as vice president for institutional advancement, Ken Converse will retire at the end of December.
It has been Ken’s distinct honor to become associated with so many alumni, friends, faculty, and staff who are dedicated to BVU's mission. During his tenure, BVU has raised nearly $100 million in support of annual, endowed and capital projects. A couple of Ken’s notable accomplishments include the campaigns for the $27 million Estelle Siebens Science Center and the $30 million “See Tomorrow Campaign,” which raised money for Peterson Field, endowed scholarships, faculty chairs, and a variety of other projects.
“I feel good that I have left BVU in a stronger place than when I first joined it. I am also so thankful for, and impressed with, the generosity of the thousands of BVU alumni and friends who are so dedicated to making this place the best it can be. The BVU spirit has left an indelible mark on my heart and mind. I wish BVU the very best as it looks to the future.”
He and his wife, Karna, plan to do some much-needed travel in the early part of 2018, before Ken begins working in a part-time capacity by providing interim leadership for colleges and universities. Please join us in wishing Ken all the best!
