Buena Vista University students tapped into their culinary skills as part of the Diverse Cultures Through Movies and Cooking course. The course is one of several unique topics offered on campus this Interim.

Throughout the three-week class, students broadened cultural awareness by examining the dimensions by which cultures vary, including concepts of social structure, organization, institution, and socialization. The group of students also conducted community service, read short stories, watched movies that depicted different cultural experiences, and cooked meals from various parts of the world. The course culminated with student presentations that focused on a culture of their choice.
