BVU alumnus Rob Hach of Alta was one of eight “citizen co-chairs” from across the nation selected by the Presidential Inaugural Committee to take part in the inauguration celebration for President Barack Obama this past weekend.
The co-chairs participated in the National Day of Service on Saturday. After Obama's swearing-in ceremony Monday, they rode on an inaugural parade float and attended the official inaugural balls that night. Rob and his wife, Tara, attended the celebration events.
Rob, Class of 1998, and Tara, Class of 1997, are partners in Anemometry Specialists of Alta. Rob is the founder and president of the company and Tara is vice president and serves as controller and bookkeeper. In 2010, the company was named the Iowa Small Business of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration, earning the Hachs a trip to Washington, D.C. and the White House. The Hachs are active in wind energy industry organizations and Rob serves on the board of the Iowa Wind Energy Association. Last fall, Rob introduced Obama at a campaign appearance in Sioux City.
