Buena Vista University students will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast on April 28 from 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Dows Conference Center with all proceeds benefiting the Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Iowa.
The students' goal is to raise $5,000 and Adopt-A-Wish in BVU's name via the organization's We Have a Dream campaign, says Grace Bodey, project manager who is a junior graphic design and digital media double major from Belvidere, Ill.
"We encourage BVU and the Storm Lake community to find the passion in their own dreams and support our campaign, making the dreams come true for a child with a life-threatening medical condition,"she says. "Several current BVU students are past wish recipients, so the Make-A-Wish Foundation has brought hope to the Storm Lake community in the past. We want to do the same thing now."
Tickets for the We Have a Dream breakfast are being sold in advance for $10, but walk-ins are welcome. Interested persons can contact Grace at 815.871.3126 or email@example.com for more information. A menu of pancakes, eggs, sausage, seasonal fruit, juice, and coffee will be served, and patrons will be invited to write their own wishes on their placemat.
The Make-A-Wish® Foundation of Iowa grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Iowa chapter volunteers are part of a nationwide network of nearly 25,000 caring people dedicated to making wishes come true. Visit Make-A-Wish online: http://iowa.wish.org/.
