Shelby Ripperger scored her 16th career-goal to even the score at 1-1 going into the half, but the University of Dubuque went on to score a pair of second half goals to edge the Buena Vista women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon, 3-1.
The Spartans took the early 1-0 lead with a goal during the 20th minute before Ripperger evened things up nine minutes later when she converted a free-kick from 25 yards out.
Dubuque came up with the ball in a scramble around the front corner of the box and punched it through to regain the lead 10 minutes into the second half before adding the final goal early in the 62nd minute.
Ripperger finished with a team-high four shots, while Tori Carson added two.
The Spartans finished the contest with a 17-7 shot advantage.
