BVU students and advisors, along with volunteers prepare for the Vigil of the Cross remembering men, women and children who have lost their lives while trying to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S near Agua Prieta. Heat exhaustion, no water, and a cruel environment have taken the lives of over 280 in the past 4 years.
Every Tuesday evening, along the Pan American Highway into Agua Prieta, Mexico, volunteers reflect and remember those individuals who have died during their journey across the U.S./Mexico border near their community.
AWOL advisor, Matt Wager and student, Marcia Mondie, prepare a garage for painting at the Presbyterian Border Ministry facility in Douglas, AZ.
A photo opp and break for the 2008 AWOL participants. 85 degrees in Mexico and 20 degrees in Iowa....Go AWOL!
