Mandy is responsible for providing personal, mental health counseling to BVU students. She provides consultation, assessment, and outpatient counseling through individual and group sessions. She provides topical educational presentations to student groups and classes. Mandy plays an integral part in planning of the many Wellness programs on campus.
Mandy is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and Iowa Mental Health Counseling Association (IMHCA).

Social Work and Criminal Justice double major
As the wellness education specialist, Allison coordinates the Student Wellness Advisory Council and assists with a variety of programs in wellness. Her main purpose is to educate BVU students about the various forms of wellness. Programs deal with showing how wellness affects almost every aspect of a person’s life. Allison also writes articles for the new, Student Health 101, on-line newsletter which is published monthly and distributed to students and parents. Some of her main projects focus on alcohol education specifically the Underground and peer education.
Along with working in Wellness, Allison is a member of the special-interest suites whose focus is social consciousness, service learning vice president for Student MOVE, concert band, jazz band, academic assistant for Social Work, and an active member of the Social Work Club. Allison currently works at Faith, Hope, and Charity in Storm Lake. After graduation, I plan to get my masters degree in Social Work and work with children and adolescents helping them to develop socially, emotionally, and behaviorally through counseling, camps and other services.
