Baccalaureate/Commencement

 As the weather turns warmer and new life begins to spring up around us, our thoughts naturally turn to fresh starts and new beginnings. While some may see spring commencement as a conclusion to our senior students' tenure at Buena Vista, we prefer to look at it as a rite of passage into a whole new era of their lives.

With such exciting change, of course, comes preparation, and Buena Vista University is now in the midst of planning its 2008 Commencement ceremonies on the Storm Lake campus May 18. This part of the website is designed to offer you an overview of the schedule and services throughout the weekend.

2008 Commencement Speaker Announced

Tom Bedell, entrepreneur, businessman and chairman of Pure Fishing, has been named commencement speaker for the Buena Vista University Class of 2008. Bedell will speak at BVU's commencement ceremony on May 18 at 2:30 p.m. in the Siebens Fieldhouse. Read more...
