Buena Vista University Graduate & Professional Studies is exclusively for students seeking to complete degrees begun elsewhere. We facilitate the smooth transfer of credits from Iowa Lakes Community College. This advising guide is effective for students entering BVU in the 2011-12 academic year. As course and degree requirements change, students are encouraged to consult with BVU personnel.
Iowa Lakes Community College has a full articulation agreement with Buena Vista University. Students who have completed an approved associate's degree at ILCC can seamlessly move on to complete a bachelor's degree through BVU Graduate & Professional Studies at Emmetsburg, Estherville, Spencer or Spirit Lake.

Degree requirements include a minimum grade point average and a minimum of 128 semester credits. A maximum of 68 credits rom a two-year institution will be applied toward a BVU degree. The final 30 hours must be completed at Buena Vista University. Transferred course work may be used to satisfy institutional requirements; however, the actual equivalence or appropriateness of a specific transfer course is determined by the Registrar's Office. Consult the BVU catalog in effect at the time of entering BVU for complete listing of degree requirements.
