- Social Science Major

No species has affected and changed its environment as much as man. We cover the globe, building institutions, creating communities, reshaping the land, and manipulating flora and fauna to meet our needs. While several of the hard sciences consider these factors, social science steps in where measurement of man's actions becomes the deciding principle. As part of the social science major, you learn how to formulate theories and use measurement and statistics to prove your point. The social science major combines courses in economics, history, political science, and sociology. Education students may major in Social Science to get teaching licensure in this area.
