Hall Director: Emili Vondrak

My name is Emili Vondrak, and I am the Residence Hall Director for Swope and the Suites (Briscoe, Constitution, and McCorkle). I am originally from Kingsley, Iowa. I graduated from Cornell College with a Bachelor of Arts in Art and a minor in Religion. As an undergraduate student, I became very involved in residence life and student activities, which sparked my desire to work professionally in student services. Upon graduating from Cornell, I attended Iowa State University where I received a Master’s of Education in Higher Education: Student Affairs. At Iowa State, I worked in the Department of Residence, taught an academic skills course for first year students, and co-advised Dance Marathon 2010. Now, I am very proud to be a staff member at Buena Vista University. As a Residence Hall Director, I enjoy the opportunity to interact with students, faculty, and staff in a residential environment and to be a part of the learning and personal development that takes place beyond the walls of a traditional classroom. I am also involved with the Iowa Student Personnel Association (ISPA) and am the Conference Chair for the 2011 ISPA Conference. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, laughing, eating delicious food, and being a lifelong learner (a.k.a. I love to learn new things because I think it is fun).
