- ARTICLE XIV. CHANGES TO THE STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT

Any recommendation for modification of any aspect of the Student Code of Conduct shall be forwarded to the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students for approval and implementation. When appropriate, the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students will inform the President who retains the right to make final decisions in accordance with the governance policy of Buena Vista University.
Buena Vista University believes that important learning experiences occur in the residence hall, on the playing field, and in university meeting rooms, as well as in the classroom and laboratory. Our co-curricular program provides opportunities for students to link theory to practice. Through these programs students develop leadership skills, explore career possibilities, provide service to others, participate in wellness activities, develop an understanding and appreciation of those from different backgrounds and cultures, and enjoy a variety of student activities. The co-curricular program complements the formal academic curriculum, emphasizing a holistic and well-rounded education. Additionally these experiences are important in career preparation, as future employers often look at students’ service and leadership involvement during college life.
