Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Media Available for Graduating Students

Graduating Storm Lake students can purchase the media for Microsoft Office 2007 from the Business Office for $20. This offer is only available for the month that you graduate. When you graduate, this software will become licensed to you, meaning that you can use the software on one computer you own. You do not own the software, so it can not be sold or transferred to someone else. We recommend that all graduating students take advantage of this offer.

If I own the software, why can't I sell it?

You do not own the software. Part of our agreement with Microsoft allows graduating students to use this software after graduation. Because the software is licensed to a graduating student, it can't be given or transferred to someone else.

What is the $20 for?

You are automatically covered under this agreement if you are a student. The $20 covers the price of the CDs and a unique license code from Microsoft. Having the CDs is a convenience because you can reinstall the software if needed. If you did not purchase the CDs and wanted the software reinstalled on a computer you would have to send the computer to BVU to have it reinstalled.

Is Office 2007 the only software that is available to me under this option?

No, there are other software packages available, but BVU only carries Office 2007 at the Business Office. If you are interested in Office for Mac or Windows 7 you can order the software by filling out this form. You will need to provide a copy of your Student ID to obtain the software.
