Phone System Upgrade
Buena Vista University's ITS Staff are pleased to announce that BVU is in the process of replacing our aging Fujitsu and Avaya phone systems and moving to a new communications platform. This new Unified Communications system will provide capabilities well beyond simply a new telephone system. This upgrade of BVU systems across all locations will include implementing real-time communication services such as IP telephony, video conferencing and collaboration, instant messaging, call control and speech recognition, and non-real-time features such as voicemail, email, text messaging and fax.
ITS Staff will work with each department to migrate onto this new system and prepare for training and support of its multi-faceted feature-set.
ITS Staff are very excited about the opportunities this new system provides many exciting new features. We will be sharing information on these new capabilities in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
