Junior Austin Mogg (125) and sophomore Matt Sefcik (285) went a combined 7-0 to highlight the Buena Vista wrestling team on Saturday, as the team went 0-3 at its half of the Iowa Conference Duals, hosted by Central College.  The other half of the teams competed at Coe College.

The Beavers fell to sixth-ranked Cornell College, 36-12 to begin the day, as Mogg and Casey Paprocki (174) picked up decisions, while sophomore Matt Sefcik notched the first of his two pins on the day.

BVU then fell 42-6 to the host Dutch in the second round, as Mogg's first period pin proved to be the lone victory.  The Beavers then faced 11th-ranked Luther College, falling 34-9.  Mogg and senior Mike Berardesco (133) each picked up identical 5-3 victories, with Sefcik winning his heavyweight bout, 6-1.

The team then closed the day with a tough 32-18 loss to Loras College.  Moog, Sefcik and senior Joe Klinkel (194) each picked up pins for the team, which is now 3-10 overall (0-8 IIAC).

Mogg improves his overall season mark to 34-10, as Sefcik is now 18-7.  Junior Brian Broll, who is 29-3, was not with the team following a death in the family.

BVU will close out its dual meet schedule this Wednesday night with non-conference matches at Morningside College in Sioux City.  The Beavers will face the host Mustangs beginning at 6:30pm before closing out with Northwestern College (IA) at 8:00pm.
