Buena Vista interim Director of Athletics Brian Van Haaften has announced that head women’s golf coach Chelsea Anderson will step down from her position at the end of the spring season.
“Chelsea played in the golf program and took pride in BVU golf,” says Van Haaften. “Being a tremendous player helped her greatly as a coach. We will miss her.”
Anderson has guided the program for the last three seasons, and coached an all-conference performer in each of the last two seasons. The team had not had an all-conference golfer since 2007 when Anderson, who was a four-year letterwinner herself, did so in her final campaign. She also had an academic all-conference selection in two of her three seasons.
“I want to thank everyone at Buena Vista University for the opportunity to have been the women's golf coach the past three years,” says Anderson. “I will miss being a part of BVU and have been honored to coach the women's golf team. I am proud of the women and all they have accomplished. I wish them the best in their futures both on and off the course.”
Van Haaften says a search for a replacement will begin immediately.
