



Jaron Smool fired a two-over round of 74 on Sunday during the second round of the Twin Cities Classic and has moved into a tie with teammate Mitch Brunick for a tie for 35th overall. As a team, BVU shaved four strokes off its opening round and is tied for 14th.
Smool, who opened with an 81 on Saturday, was one shot off of matching a career-best round. He moved up into a tie with Brunick, who carded a round of 78. The duo are just four strokes back of moving into the top-15.
Kyle Auffert shot an 85 over his second 18 holes after opening with a 79 on Saturday. Andrew Zinn shaved two shots off his opening round 83, while Greg Hiemstra also improved by a shot.
As a team, the Beavers shaved four strokes off their opening round total of 320 and are now tied with Bethel University in 14th place.
Tim Mccormick fired a 2-under 70 and jumped into the lead after an even-par opening round. He stands three shots in front of Pat Larkin, who entered the round as the clubhouse leader after carding a 3-under 69 on Saturday. Larkin shot a 4-over 76 over his second 18 holes.
UW-Eau Claire moved in front of Concordia-Moorhead for the team lead after totaling a round of 295. The team had trailed Concordia by four shots heading into the round and now lead by seven shots. The Beavers are one shot behind Gustavus II for 13th.
Final round action gets underway on Monday morning.
