The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2010 All-IIAC Men's Basketball Teams on Wednesday afternoon, and a trio of underclassmen represent the Beavers. Sophomore Doug Bissen earned First Team honors with freshman Troy Ticknor voted to the Second Team. Fellow freshman Wes Nordquist was also recognized by earning Honorable Mention accolades. Men's Basketball Falls to Dutch in Tournament Championship Game

The Buena Vista men's basketball team was playing in its 10th championship game in the 12-year history of the tournament, but it was Central College opening up a quick double-digit lead and shooting 53 percent from the field,en route to a 99-79 victory over the Beavers on Saturday night. READ MORE

Beavers Headed to 10th Tournament Championship Game

Buena Vista saw a 14-point second half lead disappear late, but the Beavers, who converted 21-of-28 free-throws in the game, hung on in the end for a thrilling 78-72 triumph over Wartburg College (15-12) in their IIAC Tournament semifinal match-up on Thursday night inside of Siebens Fieldhouse. Beavers Earn Second Seed with Comeback Win over Kohawks

Buena Vista erased an 11-point second half deficit when it took a 68-67 lead with less than five minutes to play, and the Beavers made 11-of-13 free-throws over the final two minutes to hang on for a thrilling 87-84 victory over visiting Coe College (4-21, 2-14 IIAC) on Saturday afternoon.
