Cross Country Resumes Schedule at ISU

The Buena Vista cross country teams were back in competition on Saturday, as they took part in the annual Iowa Intercollegiate Championship, hosted by Iowa State University.

A total of four women's and six men's teams made up the field.  BVU had three women run individually and were led by Holly Neutzman, who was making her season debut.  She reached the finish line in 22:02 and placed 33rd overall.  Emily Erickson posted a 5k time of 25:44, while Megan Long also made her debut and crossed in 25:50.

Iowa State captured the team title with 15 points, as Cyclone freshman Maddy Becker took individualist honors in a time of 18:56.

For the second straight outing, freshman Alex Lamp paced the men's side, placing 6th overall in a time of 27:26.  Aaron Roberts and Ryan Marzen finished 22nd and 23rd, respectively.  Roberts reached the finish line in 29:06 with Marzen three seconds later in 29:09.  Jared Bruce placed 28th in his first action of the year, running a time of 29:47.  Brian christiansen and Tyler Peterson finished 30th and 31st, while Ben Berberich capped the team scoring with a 34th-place finish among the 75 runners.

ISU also captured the men's crown with 15 points.  BVU finished with 109 points to take fourth.  Freshman Abdou Seye took the individual title in a time of 26:35.

Buena Vista hits the course again on September 30th when the teams travel to Des Moines, Iowa to take part in the Grand View University Invte, beginning at 5:00pm.
