



The Buena Vista cross country teams were back out on the course on Saturday to continue their competition schedule by taking part in the Dan Houston Invite, hosted by Wartburg College.
Freshman Holly Nuetzman was the top finisher on the women's side, reaching the finish line in 28:32. Freshmen Olivia Nelson (33:53) and Megan Long (34:36) also took part for BVU. It was the collegiate debut for Nelson.
Freshman Alex Lamp paced the men with his 45th place finish among the more than 170 runners. He crossed the line in a time of 27:54. Fellow freshman Aaron Roberts took 47th in personal-best clocking of 28:05. Jared Bruce turned in a season-best time of 28:50 and placed 60th, while Ryan Marzen (29:43) was 68th. Junior Dan Pearson also posted a season-best mark of 30:57, while junior Brian Christiansen (30:16) and freshman Ben Berberich (31:43) round out the line-up.
Wartburg won the women's team title by four points over Gustavus Adolphus, while Loras College topped Augustana College by nine points to win the men's title.
Buena Vista returns to action when the teams run at the Jim Drews/Tori Neuhbauer Invite next Saturday, beginning at 11:00am.
