The Buena Vista cross country teams took the course for the final time this season at the NCAA Central Regional Championships on Saturday, hosted by Wartburg College.

Two of the four runners for the BVU women set season-best clockings, including freshman Olivia Nelson, who ran one minute faster than her previous best.  Senior Emily Erickson also ran her fastest time of the year.  Freshman Holly Nuetzman led the group with her time of 27:30.

Minnesota-Morris' Linda Keller won the individual championship with a time of 21:44.  Wartburg College, meanwhile, took the overall team title with 63 points, cruising to the title over runner-up Carleton College, who finished with 85 points.

Over on the men's side, freshman Alex Lamp led the charge with a time of 27:21.8.  He finished 92nd overall among the field of 185 runners.  Fellow freshman Aaron Roberts was next and nearly matched his season-best time of the IIAC Championships two weeks ago by crossing the finish line in 27:31.  Senior Jared Bruce, who was running his final race in a Beaver uniform, finished at 27:41.  Ben Berberich and Brian Christensen each ran their fastest races of the year for BVU, which placed 21st overall in the 26-team field.  Ryan Marzen was also running for the final time, and he finished at 29:18.

St. Thomas' Ben Sathre captured the individual crown in a time of 25:35, while Nebraska Wesleyan edged St. Olaf in the team race, 93 to 107.
