The Buena Vista track and field teams went back on the road for the first time in three weeks on Saturday by taking part in the Grinnell College Darren Young Invite. The women placed ninth as a team with the men taking seventh.
Maggie Marker took third in the 60 meter dash to get things started by reaching the finish line in 8.04 seconds. She then placed fifth in the 200 meter dash in 26.88.
Abby Hesnard was seventh in the 400 meter dash in 1:03.59, finishing just three seconds back of the winning mark.
The 4x200 meter relay was second overall in a time of 1:47.59, coming within one second of the school record which was set last season.
Over on the men's side, the day was highlighted in the 800 meter run where Seth Woodson won the event with a clocking of 1:57.31, a time that was .11 seconds in front of his brother, Garrett. Ryan Eberly was eighth in the 200 meter dash (23.41).
The 4x400 meter relay team captured a fourth place finish with a time of 3:28.12.
The two teams are back on the track again next weekend by taking part in the Beaver Relays/NJCAA Regional Meet, beginning on Friday evening before wrapping up on Saturday.
