Buena Vista senior point guard Brooke Wehle has landed a spot on the 2013 All-Iowa Conference Women’s Basketball Team which was released by the Iowa Conference office on Wednesday. It marks the first time she’s received such accolades in her career. Junior Susan Kies (Fonda, Iowa/Newell-Fonda) was recognized with a spot on the Honorable Mention Team.
Not only is it the first time that Wehle has earned the honors, she becomes the program’s first Firs Team selection since the 2009-10 (Aubrey Hauswirth and Margo Muhlbauer (MVP)).
Wehle finished second on the team in scoring this season at 10.0 points per contest, while dishing out a team-high 85 assists. During IIAC play, she was ninth in scoring (10.5ppg), third in assists (43) and seventh in free-throw percentage (82.5 percent). She finished as the league leader in assist/turnover ratio (2.15).
