The Buena Vista men's tennis team closed out its season in strong fashion on Saturday afternoon by cruising to an 8-1 Iowa Conference triumph at Simpson College.
The Beavers took two of the three doubles matches before winning all six singles matches, including one by default. Of the five matches that were played, BVU won four of them in straight sets, allowing only seven points in those four.
Adam Gustad and Jason Ehrhardt teamed up to take the number one doubles match 8-3 before Keifer Nevius and Cole Renken won by default. Gustad later won his number one singles bout 6-3, 6-1, while Ehrhardt captured a 6-3, 6-1 triumph. Nevius won his number four match without allowing a single point.
Renken then closed things out with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory.
The Beavers finish with an overall mark of 5-11 (2-6 IIAC).
