Buena Vista junior 184-pounder Brian Broll fell one win shy of becoming an All-American on Friday on the opening day of the NCAA Division III Championships.
Following a tough 7-3 loss to fifth-seed and seventh-ranked Dave Dwyer of UW-Whitewater in his opening match, Broll then moved to within one win of All-American status after a thrilling 2-1 OT victory over Cortland State's Carl Korpi.
Broll, ranked 10th nationally, then came up short for his bid of a top-eight finish by falling 4-0.
The three-time national qualifier wraps-up his junior campaign at 32-6 overall, and will enter his final season just 13 wins shy of 100 in his career.
