Preseason IIAC Men's Soccer Coaches Poll

The Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) announced its 2012 Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday afternoon.
Loras College received five of the possible seven first place votes (coaches can't vote for their own team) and totaled 54 points to edge Luther College as the league's favorite to capture the 2012 title. The Norse tallied the final three votes and totaled 51 points.
The Beavers, who narrowly missed out on an IIAC Tournament bid a year ago, tallied six points and was picked eighth - one point behind Coe College.
Head coach Marc Baumbach says, "We are looking for marked improvement from our team in the IIAC this season. The IIAC is more and more competitive each year and I expect that to be the case this season as well, with the traditional top teams being pushed from all sides."
BVU opens its season at home on Friday, August 31, against MacMurray College at 6:00pm. The game is being played as part of the three-day BVU Classic.
