BVU Concert Band Spring Concert on March 18
The BVU Concert Band will present its Winter Concert on March 18, 2012 at 3 p.m. in Schaller Memorial Chapel. This concert is a “nautically ” themed performance as the majority of the works are based on the sea. Opening the concert will be an unpublished Sousa march that was only recently discovered in the archives of the Library of Congress called “Old Ironside.” The featured work on the program will be a five movement piece called “Of Sailors and Whales” by Francis McBeth. Other works on the program will include: “Sea Songs” by Vaughn Williams; “A Fantasy of British Sailing Songs” and a medley of Gilbert and Sullivan selections. The concert is free and open to the public.
Jazz Concert Set for March 28
Dr. David Klee, associate professor of music at BVU, along with his group, "The Jazz Express", will present a concert of new original jazz tunes written by Klee at 7:30 p.m. March 28 in Anderson Auditorium.
