Lifetime E-mail Forwarding
BVU's Alumni Lifetime Email Forwarding Service allows you to have an @alumni.bvu.edu address for life. No matter how many times you change e-mail accounts or e-mail providers, your friends and family will always be able to reach you by e-mailing your @alumni.bvu.edu address. Each time you get a new email account or provider, you'll simply need to contact the Office of Alumni Relations at devalum@bvu.edu to inform us where to forward your messages.

FAQ
Q: Is my e-mail stored at BVU?
A: No - e-mail sent to your e-mail address is forwarded to the real e-mail address you provide us. Your messages are never kept at BVU.
Q: What if I change e-mail addresses and forget to contact BVU?
A: The original sender of the e-mail address will receive the same kind of errors as if they directly sent an e-mail to your old address. Our server forwards the message to your account and never sees the message again.
Q: Will you scan my e-mail for viruses or spam?
A: No - we only pass the message to your supplied e-mail address. No checks of any kind are performed.
Q: Do I need a "real" e-mail or can I use my old BVU account?
A: You will need an off-site e-mail account. This service only forwards messages. Your student BVU account will still be deleted approximately one year after graduation.
Alumni who use the BVU e-mail forwarding service agree to abide by the Buena Vista University Electronic Information Policy . In short, you agree to keep your usage of the service within the bounds of what is legal, ethical, and fair.
BVU will inform users within a reasonable amount of time if the e-mail forwarding service is ever terminated. Although the university strives to maximize service uptime, you agree not to hold BVU responsible for any e-mail delivery delays or failures.
BVU maintains discretion on all alumni e-mail names. If an e-mail name is not deemed appropriate for any reason or if the username is already in use, you will be asked to select a different username. All usernames must be between 3 and 20 characters in length.
As a user of the e-mail forwarding service, you agree to receive periodic communication from the Office of Alumni Relations via email. Email communication includes but is not limited to: @Buena Vista monthly e-newsletter, reminders about upcoming alumni events in your community, University publications online and more.
