What do you remember most about BVU? That favorite professor, your first date on campus, late nights with friends, your toughest class, Homecoming, the Beaver Train, walking through the Arch? Things may seem different on campus today, but many of the experiences and traditions you may recall from your years at BVU are here for today's students, though they have new faces and a different look. Today, even "Buford" does not have the same outward appearance that you probably remember if you‘ve been gone over a couple of years, but he's just as spirited as ever.
We also have more academic programs and majors than when many of you were on campus, such as a new major in music production technology that is designed to meet the increasing demand for graduates in that field. Student organizations are growing in number and there is a new emphasis on international travel and study abroad experiences. Today, you'll also find some newer traditions, such as the annual Scholars Day program in the spring, as well as renewal of some old traditions like the ringing of the Victory Bell on special occasions.
BVU has also increased the focus on building stronger networking opportunities between students and alumni. The new Alumni Association Student Board and the Career Symposium are just a couple of noteworthy examples of ways in which we are encouraging these important connections.
