Buena Vista University’s Student MOVE (Mobilizing Outreach of Volunteer Efforts) will host an event called “Glass Slipper Shop” from 3 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 and March 1 at the United Methodist Church.
The Glass Slipper Shop will offer hundreds of new and used formal dresses for sale at a low cost. All items have been donated by local formal wear stores and individuals. This is the fifth year for the project. Proceeds are donated to a local non-profit organization.
BVU student co-coordinators for the project are Gwendolyn Walton and Jordyn Livingston. Gwendolyn is a junior psychology major from Granger. Jordyn is junior business/marketing major from Omaha.
“It’s inspiring to see BVU and the surrounding communities support this worthy cause,” says Gwendolyn. “Watching a young lady get that glint in her eye when she knows she’s found her prom dress is especially rewarding.”
Student MOVE is the student advisory board to the Office of Civic Engagement and coordinates organized student volunteer activities on and off campus.
