The Office of Career Services hosted its third annual Career Connect event for BVU students on March 11 and 12 in the Dows Ballroom. Unlike a traditional job fair, Career Connect is a unique, interactive event, specifically designed for networking, learning about employment trends, and building relationships between students and future employers.

The March 11 Career Connect was designed for students interested in careers in communications, business, and exercise science, and March 12 emphasized community service, education, and technology/computer science careers.

Career Connect is a venue for BVU students to network with a variety of businesses and organizations from across the Midwest each year. Students have a chance to meet potential employers, ask questions, and inquire about internships in their fields of study. Many areas of study are represented, and students are given the chance to network with all of the professionals during the reception.

“This event offers an opportunity for students to start building their professional network,” said Cindy Cone, BVU’s assistant director of career services for internships. “Career Connect gives our students access to professionals who offer advice and insight into their organizations. Students are encouraged to explore not only their chosen field of study, but to learn about companies outside their major as well.”

Over 50 businesses, schools, graduate schools, and non-profit organizations were represented at the event.
