Change the face of cancer research. Develop a breakthrough biotech product that combats a rare disease. Become a scientist at a prestigious research institution. Biochemists study the molecules and chemical reactions of living systems. As a biochemistry major at BVU, you’ll have access to expert professors, vast research and internship opportunities, and challenging coursework that will prepare you for success in this rapidly growing field.
Through your studies, you’ll receive a solid foundation in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics before completing advanced courses and a year-long biochemistry course. The research you will carry out with BVU professors or at a major research institution will help you acquire critical thinking and problem-solving skills early on. The biochemistry major at BVU is designed to prepare you for graduate programs in research and the health professions, and for careers in industry, pharmaceuticals and other laboratory sciences.
