Public administrators are big picture thinkers. They look for solutions to problems like gang violence, poverty, and crime. Working in the public and private sectors, they implement policies legislated by governments and bring together large groups of people with very different agendas and get them to move in the same direction. Are you up to the task?

As a public administration major, you will develop professional skills in policy analysis and management as you study the American political system at the local, state, and federal levels. You’ll build a base of analytical tools rooted in an understanding of economics, statistics and organizational behavior, as well as develop your practical problem solving and policy planning abilities. You’ll further have the option to apply what you’ve learned during an internship most public administration majors take during their final year in the program.
