Dr. Melanie Hauser

Dr. Hauser completed her doctoral research studying selective calcium chelation by alpha-hydroxyketones and alpha-hydroxyamides. Her current research interests include green (environmental benign) organic chemistry and new chemistry teaching methods. She believes that chemistry impacts all areas of life and eagerly seeks to make science approachable by teaching general education courses such as Chemistry in Food.

Dr. Hauser is also passionate about integrated learning and development of the whole person and currently serves part time as the University Chaplain in addition to teaching.
