Dr. Lanlan Chu joined Buena Vista University in 2017. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Texas Tech University. Her teaching philosophy is to maximize students’ engagement by integrating real-world scenarios and utilizing a variety of active learning strategies. Her international background also allows her to bring broader economic perspectives to the class. Dr. Chu is conducting research in industrial organization and energy economics. She also does research in health economics, and is interested in the impacts of informal care on women’s labor supply and health.
