Currently, Dr. John Bedward oversees all STEM programming for the School of Education, Storm Lake, and Online, Site and Graduate (OSG) programs. This includes all pre-service teacher methods courses, STEM endorsements, STEM endowment, in-service teacher professional development, outreach and after school programming. As co-chair of the Northwest Iowa STEM council, John is involved in statewide science leadership initiatives--STEM festivals, curriculum design, science standard implementation, in-service professional development, STEM scale-up evaluation, and school-business innovation. Actively engaged in K-12 STEM and undergraduate geoscience education research--active learning, cyberlearning, laboratory design, model-based reasoning and rural education. John has taught in a variety of K-12 and after school programs. Prior to completing graduate school, John worked extensively in emerging Internet technologies, distributing computing, data centers, Internet Start-ups and the public service.
