Spanish has more native speakers worldwide than any other language except Mandarin, including nearly 35 million in the United States.  Being able to communicate with it can help your business reach out to growing segments of the population and enable you to better connect with the community around you.

As a Spanish major, you’ll study the language with a goal of both mastering it and understanding the cultures of those who speak it.  You’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the celebrations, traditions, arts and history of speakers through connections and service work with Storm Lake’s substantial Spanish-speaking community, as well as have the chance to spend semesters and January interim terms abroad in Spanish-speaking countries around the world.
