Transfigurations and Meditations
Oct. 11 - Nov. 11, 2011
Artist Amy Sand's new body of work references social identity and the history of family and time through the idea of relationships and holiday gatherings. She references lace tablecloths, which often become emblems of family heritage, representing the idea of the passing of time, past and present. Sands is interested in pattern and memory and its impact on identity, both individually and culturally. She uses both printmaking and drawing media to comment on the fragility of the human condition.
