Petrobras: An Emerging Brazilian Oil Giant

As the 5^th most admired oil company in the world and the largest in Brazil, Petrobras has been a huge contribution to Brazil’s rapid economic growth. The unique combination of state and private ownership has given Petrobras the financial stability and capital to become one of the world’s largest petroleum refining companies. With operations in 24 countries this multi-national company plans to continue expansion to become an even greater global influence. This analysis will cover the macroeconomic and political environment in Brazil; an analysis of the firm’s products and services; the business strategies, corporate culture and governance; and financial and stock performance. This research also uses the time trend analysis and peer group analysis to assess Perobras’s improving operation performances in past years and in the future.
