"Show Us Your Stuff" Contest Showcases Digital Creativity

Buena Vista University is sponsoring the seventh annual “Show Us Your Stuff” contest which showcases some of the best creative work in digital media in the area.

The contest is coordinated by BVU's Teaching and Learning with Technology Center (TLTC). Deadline for entries is April 29. The contest is open to BVU students, faculty, staff and alumni, and anyone from the surrounding area, including high school students. The winners will be announced May 3. Amazon gift cards will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.

“This contest has been successful every year we have held it,” says Jay Benedict, TLTC manager. “This year we are again opening the contest up to the surrounding community. There is a wealth of resources on the Web and we want to give the BVU community as well as the surrounding areas an opportunity to create some really cool digital media. This, hopefully, will also help to create a sense of community between the university and the surrounding cities and towns.”

The categories are:

  • Static: Anything that is "static" or still, such as digitally enhanced photography or graphic design work.
  • Multimedia: This includes work such as music videos, songs, flash animation, and audio slideshows. Submissions are limited to five minutes in length.
  • iPad: Anything that can be created on an iPad can be entered in this category.
