The US Government bought $ 2 Trillion worth of products and services from private companies and organizations in 2011 to execute its various missions. In order to gain a contract to deliver those services, organizations and companies must submit proposals to government committees in a competitive bid process. This bidding process is arduous and highly proscriptive so companies like Blue Capture Consulting have arisen to help in the proposal process. Leslie Winik, the founder and Principal of Blue Capture Consulting will discuss this brand of government entrepreneurship giving a first person account of the quarter billion dollars in projects she has helped secure this year. She will also discuss the struggles and successes of companies that win these contracts and suddenly face the challenges associated with growing in size to deliver the goods and services for which they have contracted. The bid and proposal process isn’t what you think!
