Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is one of the most popular novels in history. It has been adapted to film, theatre, comic books, and television. It has been revised to include zombies. It is the source of famous quotations. But more than just popular, Pride and Prejudice is a novel that explores themes that remain contemporary, from economic status to marriage choice and women's roles and power. This presentation will consider the history of the novel's reception and its modern relevance and interest.
